Ser Lupin. My name is Anders. I can heal, and I do heal, a great deal. Arthur mentioned your clinic, and as I used to run one, back home, I'm interested in seeing about employment.

[There's another pause as he searches for the off button again.]

[Lupin responds as promptly as ever—as if it were just any other day…]

Hullo, Anders. I appreciate Arthur referring you to me. The clinic here is always in need of qualified help.

[And anyone with experience running a clinic is especially of interest, since one of these days Lupin really does mean to turn over the administration to someone else and focus on teaching… But let's not get ahead of ourselves.]

I'm going to be out of the office for the upcoming week, but I'll give your name to Dr Martha Jones and Raphael, who are in charge and empowered to make hires in my absence.

In fact, there's going to be a celebration this evening, with a reception at the Alliance Ballroom after.

[he embeds a marked map with directions]

You should come and I can introduce you to Dr Jones directly. Arthur will be there as well. Please don't hesitate to approach any of us—I'm one of the guests of honour and you can consider this an official invitation.

I suppose I should mention it'll be my wedding reception. Don't let it throw you.

Doctor... doesn't mean leeches, I hope. I have to tend too many who go to doctors and wind up worse off and weaker. I still don't understand why people think less blood could possibly be a good thing.

Well, admittedly, shop talk would be best kept to a minimum, but there's nothing wrong with taking the opportunity to make introductions. Anyway, my "other half" is also my partner in administration at the Clinic, so you'd be making both of our working lives easier, especially providing extra help while we're away.

I agree. And no, Dr Jones is not from a time and place where leeches were used so… eagerly. You'll find there are two main kinds of healing expertise at play in our clinic: medical and mystical. Dr Jones and Raphael are good representatives of each side: Dr Jones works through physical and chemical means, Raphael through magical. …If you're unfamiliar with anything I just said, I'm happy to explain, or you should go to the Clinic and see examples firsthand. There is a cooperative self-moderation at work in the clinic, where all the staff can seek assistance and help regulate one another, and we try to have patients be checked by a staff member from each technique, so the medical and mystical check one another and everyone gets the kind of treatment best suited to their needs and… well, expectations.

I'm happy to make things easier. Everything's better when people are easy. [A beat as he lets the joke linger.] Things, too. But it's good when your other works with you. You see all their sides, then.

[There's relief in his eyes at that. He wasn't so sure he could stand to work with someone who relied on bleeding patients.] I use magic. I have yet to see anything physical that works. I'll have to see the examples, though I'm assuming chemical means herbology and the making of salves and potions? I'm well-versed in this.

Yes, we use many supplies from the greenhouse and are planning to make our own. It would be wonderful to have a chemist on staff.

[Rather than always calling on favours from Hermione or freelancing from the Medicine Seller or Severus.]

We're also always seeking to close the gap between Scorched and Anatolean skills and expertise. Potion-making particularly is something we're trying to teach all our volunteers, so they can rely less on the Scorched in situations that tend to… well, this is a tangential conversation, one we'll have formally later, but there are times when the Scorched may be affected and become themselves threatening to the Anatoleans… in any case, the clinic is a place where one of our particular goals is not only to tend to individuals but to try to tend any wounds between the residents of this place.
